Gold, Silver and other precious metals are valued by SPOT Value: their market price at a particular point in time. To calculate current metal values, simply multiply the weight of a precious metal item times its purity (from the chart above). Once you have the weight of pure metal, one only needs to convert the weight to Troy ounces. You may find the Weight Conversion Chart below helpful in making weight calculations.
